What Access Events is

Access Events lists disability community events curated by editors. We do not organize, host, or endorse listed events. Events are run by their organizers and venues, not by Access Events.

Event details can change or be cancelled without us knowing right away. Before you travel, buy tickets, arrange transportation, or make access plans, check the organizer's official page or contact the organizer when possible.

Accessibility information is based on organizer, public-source, editor, and community-submitted information. We do not inspect venues, test accommodations, or certify that an event, venue, or accessibility feature is available, safe, or legally compliant. If something is wrong or missing, please report it and our editors will review it.

Submitting events and corrections

Submit events you reasonably believe are real, public or intended for the listed audience, and relevant to the disability community. You do not need to be the organizer. When possible, include the official source where you found the event. Do not knowingly submit false information, spam, private events without permission, or unrelated commercial promotions.

Submit only information you believe is accurate and that you have the right or permission to share. Public contact names, emails, phone numbers, meeting links, accessibility notes, logos, and other details about people or organizations must be intended for public event inquiries or shared with permission. Do not include a private person's disability, medical, support, or access-needs information unless that person has made it public for the event or asked you to share it.

When you submit a URL, page title, or note, you are asking us to review the linked page and use factual event information from it. Submit only public, lawful event pages. Do not submit private, login-only, paywalled, confidential, or access-restricted pages.

You keep any rights you have in content you submit, but you give Access Events free, nonexclusive permission to review, store, edit for clarity, format, excerpt, publish, display, distribute, cache, and otherwise use it to operate and promote Access Events. That includes use on the website, app features, calendar feeds, RSS feeds, public APIs, emails, push notifications, search results, structured data, social or link previews, and related accessibility or community tools.

Reports, corrections, cancellation requests, and notes are submissions too. We use them to review, update, explain, or remove listings, and we may share them with editors and, when useful, organizers or source owners. We review reports as volunteer capacity allows and cannot guarantee review before an event happens.

We may edit submissions for clarity, formatting, accessibility, duplicate handling, and consistency with our Editorial Guidelines. We may decline, unpublish, archive, or remove listings that are out of scope, inaccurate, unverifiable, spam, unsafe, or inconsistent with those guidelines.

Public sources and removal requests

We may collect factual event information from public organizer websites, public calendar feeds, public mailing-list archives, and other public event sources. When a public event description appears intended to promote or explain the event, we may copy, quote, summarize, rewrite, or excerpt it so the listing is useful and accessible. We link to sources where practical.

Organizers, source owners, named contacts, submitters, and rights holders can ask us to correct or remove a listing by emailing [email protected]. Source owners can ask us not to use a source again by emailing [email protected]. We may ask for information that helps us verify and process the request.

Removing something from Access Events may not remove copies already cached by calendar apps, RSS readers, API clients, search engines, social previews, screenshots, or other third-party tools.

Organizer names, logos, and sponsorships

Organizer names, logos, trademarks, and other marks belong to their owners. We use them to identify events and organizers. A listing does not mean Access Events is affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the organizer unless we clearly say so. Owners can ask us to remove or correct their marks.

Some listings are paid sponsorships. Sponsored listings are labeled with the word Sponsored in text and are visually distinguished from editorial listings. A sponsorship is advertising, not our endorsement of the sponsor, event, accessibility claims, products, or services. Sponsors do not control our editorial guidelines, unpaid listing order, accessibility descriptions, or decisions to approve, edit, or remove content.

Donations

Donations are voluntary and processed through Stripe Checkout. One-time donations are charged once. If you choose a monthly donation, you authorize Access Events to charge the amount you select every month until you cancel. Stripe shows the final amount before you enter payment information.

You can cancel a monthly donation at any time through Stripe or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops future monthly charges and does not automatically refund past donations. Completed donations are generally not refundable, but contact us within 30 days about duplicate, mistaken, unauthorized, or checkout-error donations.

Donations do not buy event placement, sponsorship, or editorial preference. Unless the donation page or receipt clearly says otherwise, we are not saying that a donation is tax-deductible.

Feeds, APIs, and acceptable use

You may use public event facts, RSS feeds, and calendar feeds for personal calendars, feed readers, accessibility tools, research, search indexing, and low-volume community sharing that preserves event links and update or cancellation context. Do not harvest contact information for marketing, sell the raw dataset, misrepresent stale listings as current, remove attribution where practical, or imply that Access Events or an organizer endorses your use.

Do not use Access Events to overload the service, submit spam, harass people, impersonate an organizer, submit false or misleading reports, post hateful, threatening, or defamatory content, upload malware, or share private personal information without permission. Ordinary use with assistive technology is allowed.

Some API endpoints require an API key. If we issue you a key, use it only for the approved purpose. Do not share, sell, publish, extract, or reuse someone else's key, and do not try to bypass authentication or rate limits. We may rate-limit, rotate, suspend, or deactivate API keys or API access.

Do not try to gain unauthorized access, probe or test vulnerabilities without permission, bypass authentication or security controls, use stolen keys or tokens, interfere with service operation, or access nonpublic data. If you crawl Access Events, identify yourself truthfully, respect our robots.txt, feed guidance, and rate limits, and stop when asked.

Children and private individuals

Access Events is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, do not submit forms, subscribe, donate, or send us personal information. If you submit information about a child, attendee, or private individual, you must have permission and the information must be appropriate for a public event listing.

No warranty and limited responsibility

Access Events is provided by volunteers as a public calendar. We work to keep listings useful and accurate, but we cannot promise every event detail is accurate, complete, current, accessible, safe, legally compliant, or always available.

Organizers and venues are responsible for event operations, admission, tickets, refunds, safety, venue rules, and accessibility services they offer or are legally required to provide. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Access Events is not responsible for injuries, property loss, expenses, travel problems, missed events, cancelled events, inaccessible conditions, inaccurate listings, or other harms connected to third-party events or reliance on calendar information. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

Changes

When we update these terms, we will update the date above. Important changes apply after they are posted, and we will try to give extra notice when a change materially affects users.
