Boston Marathon - Wheelchair & Handcycle Divisions

The Boston Athletic Association runs the world's oldest annual marathon, including elite and open wheelchair (push-rim) and handcycle divisions. The 2026 race follows the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boylston Street, Boston. Wheelchair and handcycle competitors start first, with elite women and men following. The finish line on Boylston Street is fully accessible for spectators. Qualifying times required for entry; open division lottery for non-qualifiers.
